Mainly this course is directed at professional photographers. You have to be able to photograph in Manual Mode and know how to professionally handle a DSLR camera / a flash / photography gear in general.

Yes, you need a image editing software. Preferably Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (since I use these programms in my workflow) but any other editing software would work fine too.

Of course this depends! :) I work at a 60% pensum and live to a 100% from Iris photography. I have a monthly turnover of about 6'000-10'000 CHF. Since my technique offers high quality products that you can sell at a decent price, I don't need that many iris-shootings per month (normally around 40 appointments each 1h with 2 people). With iris photography you have the beautiful possibility to not only create wonderful artworks, but also upsell these images either as digital files, wall murals, jewelry, or whatever comes to mind and fits your style.

When I started figuring out everything on my own, it took me 8 months from testing things to professionally offering this to my customers. Of course you need some people you can test it, but using my techniques you will get high quality results very fast!

This might concern you, because you live in a region where there are mainly brown and not many blue or green eyes. But you can also photograph dark brown irises. Recently I found an iris-photographer in Jordan (middle east) where probably 95% of peoples eyes are dark brown eyes. It just looks different! Mostly dark brown eyes have a visible structure in the middle and a mars-like surface on the outside. The flash will create so much light that even the most dark iris will reveal her structures. Sometimes some annoying and distracting reflections can be be seen better on a dark iris, but with some tricks you can avoid them. But to be honest, in general it is more difficult to shoot a dark than a bright iris.
